Queensland looks to phase out vehicle rego stickers

28/05/2012 - Queensland will look at phasing out vehicle registration stickers if it's seen to work well in other states.

Transport Minister Scott Emerson says he's watching the experiences of South Australia and Western Australia where they have been ditched. NSW is also following suit.

"There wasn't a sudden spike in people not re-registering because they'd forgotten about it so that's encouraging, but it's something we are looking at," he told the ABC.

"There are, I understand, savings to be made by getting rid of the rego stickers."
