ReCoila Hose Reels shows supports for fire conference

The Australasian Fire and Emergency Service Authorities Council (AFAC) is the peak industry body for fire, land management and emergency service organisations in Australia and New Zealand. The annual conference is a highlight for many personnel visiting from interstate and overseas to share information and learn about new developments.

A  trade expo component of the conference allows select suppliers to network with fire and emergency services delegates and release exclusive new products direct to personnel at the coal face.

This year the team from ReCoila was proud to unveil two new heavy duty fire hose reels. Based on industry feedback and modelled on the tough T Series steel hose reel that has been proven in the field for a number of years, ReCoila developed a new T Series model to suit 60m of 1" hose, fitted with an electromechanical clutch & speed reducer. Also available is the same hose reel with the addition of an auto level layer rewind system.

ReCoila Account Managers Nick Schwenke and Lloyd King were able to demonstrate the fire hose reels in action, garnering much interest from firefighters, who commented on how easy the reels were to operate – little physical effort is needed to deploy and rewind the hose due to the new clutch feature.

The reels are free spooling with extremely low spool torque and have rewind speeds between 0.2m/s - 0.4m/s based on the 60m x 25mm spool capacity. An electrically operated drive clutch means there are no cables or lever systems to deal with. Along with all the standard T Series features that have earned this fire hose reel status within the industry, the new reels are set to become the industry standard for metro and country pumpers across Australia and beyond.
