13/10/2010 - Road shoulders in western Victoria treated with PolyCom Stabilising Aid have withstood traffic and environmental damage very well even after 7 months. Edwina Harrison

Road shoulders in western Victoria were treated with PolyCom Stabilising Aid in March 2010 and since then have performed well after being subjected to heavier than average rainfall.

PolyCom Stabilising Aid was grader mixed on site into in-situ material of low quality. Inspections so far indicate outstanding results without importing expensive quarry materials.

Edwina Harrison, Earthco Projects Coordinator, recently examined the works near Jerparit. She was amazed at how strong and tight the table drains had remained after 7 months with no erosion or scouring apparent.

The works were performed on a single lane seal which are frequently exposed to grain trucks and local traffic shifting onto the shoulder to pass oncoming traffic.  The seals have behaved extremely well under this traffic. There was almost no degradation of the shoulder to seal interface.

PolyCom Stabilising Aid is environmentally safe and the treated road shoulders were even growing colourful displays of gazanias. Earthco Projects anticipates more works in the area utilising PolyCom Stabilising Aid.
