Rugged Wireless Server - Octagon Systems RMB-C2

The RMB-C2 is an industrial grade rugged mobile server designed for applications where severe environments and high performance meet. As a member of Octagon Systems CORE Systems™ product line, it tightly integrates the electrical, thermal and mechanical components into a complete system without compromising any one segment.

The RMB-C2 can be used as a central server, a stand-alone CPU, or a remote terminal. A full complement of I/O ports is provided such as USB, CAN Bus, VGA, serial, video, audio, odometer and digital I/O ports. Additional functionality can be implemented using PC/104 or Mini PCI expansion cards.

The high-end power supply successfully addresses the electrical havoc present in vehicular power systems. It rejects load dumps, repeated transients and excess voltage. The high density extrusion becomes the heat sink for the CPU and other heat producing components. Environmental sealing mimimises dust and moisture entry. The unique thermal design and industrial grade components allow fanless operation over a wide  –40°C to 75° C temperature range. 

The high shock and vibration ratings make the RMB-C2 ideal for use in mining, transportation, military environments and other applications where the cost of failure can be unacceptably high. The careful circuit design, component selection, testing and superior heat dissipation maximise long-term reliability and minimises costly downtime.
