We specialise in the manufacture and supply of the industry standard Tiger Tails or Torapoli Pipe as well as a range of Lineman covers, blankets and mats for low voltage live line applications.

We have been operating for over 30 years and are committed to providing a quality product through our 3rd generation family run business.

Balmoral Engineering specialise in the manufacture and supply of low voltage pipe (Tiger Tails) and covers, blankets and mats. Because of this narrow focus, we pour all our energies into one area resulting in a quality over quantity approach. This has been an effective strategy for a small family run Australian company that is 3rd generational and been in operation for over 30 years. We have close relationship with our clients who include all the major Energy Authorities and Utilities as well as contractors and industry alike. Our business model revolves around satisfying our customers needs and requirements and constantly developing and improving both our own and other products within this niche on the market.

Our main line of products includes low voltage insulating pipe which has become the industry standard. Tiger Tails or Torapoli Pipe as they are best known have cemented this position in the industry because of their quality speicifcation and unique striped appearance. A testament to both these statements is in the 30 years of supply of Tiger Tails, not one length has been returned. This is because of the exacting standards that are required by the manufacturer. The Striped appearance is unique to our product and greatly increases the visual warning than other monotone versions. Crane drivers in NSW have actively promoted their requirements for this striped affect when insulating the overhead conductors at construction sites.
Our other line of products include linesman covers, blankets, mats and kits for low voltage live line work and visual warning. This range of PPE is unique in the market because of its dual layer two tone specification which allows for easy scratch or puncture detection. We also provide our covers and kits in a range of fastening options including magnetic, velcro and stud to suit all requirements. These live line insulating covers and barriers are commonly used by the linesman for insulation purposes on overhead conductors and mains.

Tiger Tails
Tiger Tails are a common site on powerlines throughout Australasia, our overhead protective covers - (Tiger Tails or Torapoli Pipe), are available in 3 sizes and now are available in 2 colour versions: the standard yellow and black and now new red and black. The red and black is only available upon special order at this time.

Tiger Guy Guard
Tiger Guy Guard is not designed as an electrical insulator and does not retain the same properties as the Tiger Tail or Torapoli Pipe range.

Tree Protection Pipe
Our new wear - resistant Tree Protection Pipe, is designed to protect electrical and communication wires and cables where they come in contact with trees.

Polyethylene Pipe
New PEP or Polyethylene Pipe. Multiples of this pipe can be effectively accommodated and stored underground in a length of plastic conduit.

Plastic Flexible Conduit
Plastic Flexible conduit or PFC is used to protect overhead or underground communication cable including fibre optic.

Cable Protection Cover
Cable Protection Cover or CPC, is designed to protect aerial communication and fibre optic cabling from tree abrasion and contact with over-head power lines.

Linesman Safety Covers
Our linesman or Lineman Covers are also known as mats, matting, sleeves, hose, blankets, drapes and even rubbers.

Cross-arm Safety Covers
Our Cross-arm Safety Covers are the perfect fit for applications where the cross-arm interferes with a normal Linesman Safety Cover doing its job.

Cross Link Safety Covers
Our Cross Link Safety Covers are designed to cover fuses, links and switches.

PVC Drapes
PVC sheeting and drapes are used inside and out, often to cover switchboards/panels and other large potentially conductive objects that require insulation, visualisation or mechanical protection.

Marble Bags
Marble Bags are designed as pouches or pockets to slip over cable ends, lugs etc.

Coaxial Cable Kit
The coaxial Cable Kit is designed to insulate linesmen and contractors while working live-line from the coaxial, Optus or broadband cables.

Street Light Pole Kit
This kit was developed to increase the safety levels when working on the street light columns and underground cabling.

Conductive Pole Kit
Supplied as a kit or in sections as a replacement requires.

Rubber Matting
Balmoral Engineering now supplies a range of rubber matting and switchboard matting products.

Cleaning Agent - Polywater
Rubber Goods Cleaner is a specifically formulated water-based cleaner for removing grease, dirt, carbon, creosote, and other grime from insulating blankets, linesman's gloves, rubber sleeves, jumper cables, hot jumpers, and line hose.
