01/05/2012 - International welding equipment manufacturer, Kemppi, has launched its new range of compact MIG/MAG welders for the modern workshop.

Perfect for the modern mechanic and smash repairer workshop, the innovative Kempact RA series combines a robust, portable and easy to use design with quality, functional features that make welding hassle-free, quick and high quality.

Built using Kemppi's latest power source platform, the Kempact RA range ensures optimal welding performance and exceptional power cost efficiency.

Available with 180, 250 and 320 ampere power sources, users can choose from seven models and from either a Regular (R) or Adaptive (A) control panel interface.

New technology features include reduced energy costs of more than 10 per cent when compared to conventional step controlled power sources, Brights cabinet lighting for easy wire loading in low light conditions, a WireLine service alert function that signals routine wire-path maintenance needs, plus the integrated GasMate chassis design, which makes gas cylinder loading and machine movement easy and safe.

Whichever model you select, Kempact RA ensures you get the most from every welding task.

Kempact RA is designed with one thing in mind - its user. From the convenient waist height LCD control panel and easy parameter control, to the innovative chassis design, parts tray and LED cabinet lighting, Kempact RA delivers an easy, accurate and effective welding experience.

"The new Kempact RA series effectively combines all the technology an automotive repairer needs in one very portable and compact package," David Green, managing director of Kemppi Australia said.

"With this range the repairer is always assured of an easy and excellent weld regardless of whether they are using mixed or CO2 shielding gas."

Regular (R) models provide manual set-up function for voltage and wire feed speed. They also have a wide range of standard features including a gas type selection, 2T/4T gun latching mode, a timer for spot and cycle arc welding, and the hot spot function - which is a specialist localised heat treatment process used by thin sheet fabricators and automotive repair engineers.

Adaptive (A) models combine all the standard features plus channel memory function with adaptive mode set-up. In the case of all of the Adaptive models, the welding power is automatically set according to the
chosen welding plate thickness.

The unique innovative design of the Kempact RA series was recently recognised at the international iF product design awards. The series was bestowed with the esteemed international iF product design award 2012 in the industrial product design category.

The iF product design award competition is one of the oldest and best known design competitions in the world.

The competition is hosted by iF Industrie Forum Design e.V.m which every year brings together a jury of international design experts to test and evaluate the products entered.

The iF design award has been recognised as a hallmark of design excellence all over the world for almost 60 years.
