Type 8650 AirLINE Ex

Bürkert's AirLINE Ex Type 8650 unit is fully certified for use in explosive or hazard areas with gas or dust atmospheres. The system was developed in cooperation with Siemens, fusing with Bürkert technology for electro-pneumatic control that may be deployed directly into zone 1/21 environments (Zone 0). 

Integrating a direct Profibus DP-is interface, Bürkert's AirLINE Ex 8650 is ideally suited for hazardous area distributed control systems for chemicals, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, solvents, alcohols, minerals and oil and gas.

The AirLINE Ex 8650 is configured by application and can include up to 48 valve functions and 32 electronic Siemens modules, for a maximum width of 1.07 meters.  The valves may be 3/2, 5/2 or dual 3/2 function with flow rates of 300 or 700 litres per minute.  They are rated for 100% duty cycle and offer Hot Swap functionality, with manual override as an added safety feature. 

Typically housed in a stainless steel control panel, the AirLINE Ex 8650 system delivers substantial reductions in cabinet space, wiring, documentation and validation by combining IECEx (plus EExia & FM-Ex) solenoid valves with modules from the intrinsically safe SIMATIC ET 200iSPTM system and Fieldbus communications, providing users with a complete IECEx certified turnkey solution.
