24/11/2010 - An unattended weigh bridge was recently commissioned to eliminate the need for a weighbridge operator to process weigh bridge weighing transactions. Jessica Bryant

The unattended weigh bridge uses a Driver Control Station (DCS) utilising a full colour touch screen for drivers to enter their truck and load details.

Supplied by Accuweigh’s Melbourne branch, the unattended weigh bridge was installed at the entrance to a chemical plant located in Geelong for recording all truck movements in and out of the site. The unattended weigh bridge has a low profile steel weigh bridge deck measuring 30 metres long and capable of weighing B-Doubles and pocket road trains in a single weighing transaction.

The on-site unattended weigh bridge eliminates time delays for trucks travelling to and from the nearest public weigh bridges and also saved the added expense of weighing fees. The details entered by the drivers are processed by the DCS using AASoftware’s Ticket Aid Pro+ weigh bridge software to provide transaction details, printing weigh bridge tickers using a local printer and for generating management reports.

Accuweigh is Australia’s largest industrial weighing company with branches in all mainland states and has installed more weigh bridges across Australia than any other weighbridge company.
