09/10/2012 - EXAIR static eliminators neutralise static electricity charges in a wide variety of industrial processes.
Antistatic products eliminate static cling that causes dust attraction, jams and tearing.
Materials such as paper, plastic and textiles normally contain an equal number of positive and negative charges — that is, they are electrically balanced. Friction can disturb this balance, causing the material to become electrically charged. This static charge causes the following problems:
- Dust clinging to product
- Product clinging to itself, rollers, machine beds or frames
- Materials tearing, jamming or curling
- Sheet feeding problems
- Hazardous sparks or shocks
EXAIR's static eliminators are electrically powered, shockless ionisers that deliver a bulk of positive and negative ions to the surface of the charged product to eliminate static and restore the electrical balance.
Plastics, paper and textiles are insulators. These materials do not discharge when grounded. Using grounded brushes or tinsels often have little effect on these surfaces, so special static eliminators are needed.
EXAIR provides two types of static elimination products: those that use compressed air and those that do not.
EXAIR static eliminators include:
- Super Ion Air Knife
- Standard Ion Air Knife Ionising Bars
- Super Ion Air Wipe
- Ion Air Cannon
- Ionising Point
Not sure where the static electricity is being generated? EXAlR's Model 7905 Digital Static Meter locates the source and severity of the problem.
