The coal mine experiences regular high winds. The level of airborne sand and dirt during these high wind periods poses a risk to the health and safety of workers. The system provided by Pacific Data Systems uses a cup and vane anemometer to monitor wind speed and direction. An internal processor housed in a nearby environmental enclosure triggers a loud audible alarm, along with a flashing light when the specified wind speed limit is exceeded.
