Agitators have been supplied around the world from small reagent mixers in various exotic stainless steels to large leach agitators in tanks of 4500 m3.

Most agitator suppliers hang the shafts directly off the gearbox. This will reduce the initial cost of the agitator but this difference is quickly made up when the gearbox needs replacing, the downtime involved making it even more expensive. UPC supply agitators with bearing housings below the gearbox thus protecting the gearbox from the high radial loads generated by agitators.
