Assurance GDS® Salmonella Tq test produces results in 10 hours

AMSL is pleased to announce that Biocontrol has now released a fast new version of their Assurance GDS® Salmonella Tq test.

The current method already provides extremely fast results in as little as 18 hours and has full AOAC OMA approval (method 2009.03). The new method nearly halves that time, with an 8 hour enrichment in mEHEC media providing results in select matrices in just 10 hours, including sample processing.

BioControl's mEHEC media has previously been validated for use with Assurance GDS E. coli O157:H7 and Top STEC assays.

Now producers can also obtain Salmonella results in addition to E. coli O157:H7 and Top STEC from a single enriched sample.

The use of a harmonised enrichment media for these assays helps streamline testing programs and control costs by eliminating the need to prepare multiple samples. The ability to quickly test and release product, particularly in the beef and fresh produce industries, can have a significant financial impact on an organisation’s bottom line. 

BioControl Systems, Inc., received AOAC-PTM Certification (#050602) for its Assurance GDS® Salmonella Tq mEHEC method from the AOAC Research Institute’s Performance Tested Methods SM Program.

In addition to Salmonella, the Assurance GDS platform includes assays for E coli O157:H7, Shiga Toxin Genes, Top 6 and 7 STEC, Listeria spp., Listeria monocytogenes, and Cronobacter.
