CC-GRIND griding discs: The stock removal specialist

Supplier: PFERD Australia
05 March, 2012

With the new CC-GRIND grinding discs, PFERD is presenting a new generation of discs for surface grinding.

They allow aggressive grinding achieving maximum stock removal and a very good tool life on large surfaces.

The special grinding disc version combined with the matching backing pad guarantees maximum machining capacity in a very short time.

Unlike reinforced grinding discs, CC-GRIND grinding discs are very flexible, allowing score-free machining, particularly on convex and concave surfaces.

CC-GRIND has a patented quick-clamping and cooling system. When combined with the high performance abrasives, this achieves

  • a reduction in workpiece temperature by up to 30 per cent
  • up to 40 per cent higher machining capacity
  • up to 30 per cent less tool wear

PFERD offers two versions: "STEEL" for use on steel, and "INOX" for the machining of stainless steel (INOX), both versions in the diameters 115 and 125 mm.

Also matched to the specific machining requirements for these materials are the patented backing pads "CC-GT GRIND-STEEL" and "CC-GT GRIND-INOX".

Using these backing pads, GG-GRIND grinding disc can be used on standard angle grinders.

The cooling slot geometry ensures a high throughput of air, thus significantly reducing thermal loads on the abrasive and the workpieces.

The keyless clamping system reduces tool-changing times to a minimum. Thanks to the special design of the backing pad, the grinding performance of the grinding discs is significantly increased depending no the material to be processed.
