Dust extraction system installed at Abu Dhabi

Supplier: Australian Dust Control
15 February, 2012

Apollo Kitchens invited Australian Dust Control (ADC) to help them set up their new factory late in Abu Dhabi by designing, manufacturing and installing a complete dust extraction system including a reverse flow dust extractor.

ADC worked closely with the supplier Biesse Australia, to ensure that all machines where in place, connected to the ductwork and the turnkey system was complete.

ADC provided an ASF4 (DXLK) reverse flow dust extraction unit with airflow of 35,000m³ / hour 75 kW fan, VSD, ductwork and waste discharging through a 2 metre rotary valve into a skip bin. The ASF4 (DXLK) reverse flow dust extraction unit has a modular design allowing for further modules to be added at a later date if required.

This dust extraction system will maximise energy efficiency and reduce energy costs with the inclusion of a Variable Speed Drive (VSD) to automatically control suction levels and power consumption from the unit. The VSD is the "green" option.

It automatically sets the suction levels on all machines. This adjusts the speed of the extraction fan according to the machines in operation; the fan will be operating at 80 per cent capacity, which translates to a reduction in power bills of approximately 50 per cent.

The technology for this international installation was imported from Australia and carried out by three ADC contractors. The installation of the dust extraction systems took just two weeks.
