Electronic truck scales ensure legal weights of landscaping deliveries

Supplier: AccuWeigh
20 January, 2014

Electronic Truck Scales were recently fitted to a hook truck based in Newcastle to help ensure correct weights of materials being delivered to clients.

Supplied by Accuweigh's Newcastle branch, the Electronic Truck Scales are also used to prevent accidental truck axle group overloading.

The truck fitted with the Electronic Truck Scales can be operated as either a hook truck or as a flat bed due to the design of the conversion performed by Newcastle Hiab.

As a hook truck, the large industrial skip bins are dragged directly onto load cells which are mounted on the truck chassis to weigh the bin and its contents. For supplies needing a flat surface for loading / unloading by forklift or crane, a flat top is positioned onto the onboard load cells to allow all product on the flat top to be weighed.

Manufactured by PM Onboard in the UK, the Electronic Truck Scales kit of parts compromise the following supply items:

  • PM Onboard 1155 Digital Weight Indicator
  • PM Onboard 30945 heavy duty load cells designed for heavy shock loading
  • A Tally roll printer with duplicate ticket copies records all weightings

Accuweigh is Australia's largest industrial weighing company and has branches in all mainland states providing Superior Product Support for onboard truck scales and all weighing equipment.
