Fromm strap exceeds expectations in tensile strength tests

Supplier: Fromm Packaging Australia

As a leading global manufacturer of strap, we at Fromm are habitual testers of our own product, ensuring we provide our customers with the highest quality strap available, always.

On November 16th 2015, Fromm Packaging Australia commissioned Sydney University (the 45th highest ranking university in the world) to perform two independent tests of our strap quality, which has shown some surprisingly good results.

At The School of Civil Engineering (Sydney University) they are fully equipped and NATA approved to test a variety of products. They undertook two tests in accordance with internationally and locally understood standards, being EN ISO 527 (1-3). The tests were performed on Fromm's 'StarStrap Plus' 15mm x 0.9mm x 100m Green Embossed (product code 4960.2040EMB).

So, what were the results?

The results show that Fromm manufactured strapping exceed our own standards for breaking strain.

You can download Sydney University's official test results by clicking here & here

Alternatively, view the 'important' results below;

  Expected (N) Test #2 – 100mm Test #2 – 5mm
Minimum Tensile Strength at Break 5,250 Newtons 5,777.68 Newtons 5,591.50 Newtons
Average Tensile Strength at Break 5,400 Newtons 5,805.15 Newtons 5,644.61 Newtons

As you can see, Fromm strap performed better than expected in every test performed by Sydney University.

"Many strap producers make all sorts of claims in regards to their own & their competitor's strap, often these claims are mis-leading or confusing to the customer. It's nice to have some concrete evidence from such a reputable Australian university to confirm that Fromm manufacturing sites are maintaining the highest standards." Richard Layton, Managing Director at Fromm Packaging Australia.
