Kaydon Turbine Oil Conditioner

Supplier: HMA Group

Turbine & Fuel Oil Conditioning Systems or Oil Conditioner is available at POGC -

Kaydon Manufacture a Range of specialty oil filtration and conditioning systems for industrial applications. Their main markets are the Power Generation and Fuel Handling industries. Kaydon specializes in removing harmful water from lubricating and fuel oils. Kaydon have special expertise in turbine oil conditioning, electro hydraulic control (EHC) oil conditioning and fuel oil conditioning

Further details of Kaydon's unique oil conditioning systems are included below:

Turbine Oil Conditioners

Kaydon's turbine oil conditioners are designed to remove particulate, water and "varnish" from turbine oil. Large and medium size turbines with reservoir sizes up to 45,500 litres can be conditioned using the Turbo-TOC & BCA systems. These oil conditioning systems are used as an off-line "Kidney Loop" system to condition turbine oil in a turbine oil reservoir. These systems are utilised on turbine oil lube systems and are used for steam turbines, combustion (gas) turbines, and hydroelectric turbines.

Turbine oil contaminants can lead to turbine failure and unscheduled maintenance. The installation of a Kaydon's Turbo-TOC turbine oil conditioning system can quickly and efficiently remove harmful water and particulates from turbine lubrication oils and maintain your turbine oil to manufacturer's specifications. The addition of a BCA ion exchange system can also remove unwanted "Varnish" coating of metallic parts.

  • Longer Turbine Life - Keeps the oil system flushed and harmful contaminates removed. Oil reliability is increased.
  • Reduced Bearing Failures - When both water and particulate are brought down to acceptable levels, bearing failures will decrease or be eliminated.
  • Fewer Forced Outages - Contaminated oil, especially high water contamination, can potentially cause an unwanted outage. A continuous flow oil conditioning system can quickly remove the contamination, thus preventing a forced outage.
  • Less-Costly Turbine Rebuilds - Clean turbine oil increases turbine dependability and helps in the reduction of repair costs that are directly associated with contaminated oil.

Phosphate Ester Fluid (Fyrquel) Purification System

Overtime the oil used in electrohydraulic control (EHC) systems can become contaminated with water and particles and the oil can degrade to form an acidic by product. Kaydon has a solution to this contamination with their Model 858-300-EHC Smart-Vac Vacuum Distillation and Kay-Bond Ion Charge Bonding Technology. This technology purifies Phosphate Ester Fluids. Kaydon's 858-300-EHC uses Vacuum Distillation and Ion Charge Bonding Technology and controls acid number (AN), entrained gas build up, fluid resistivity, water, and particulate in these special oils. Kaydon's 858-300-EHC vacuum distillation system the ideal choice for quick and efficient purification for phosphate ester fluids.

Fuel Conditioning Systems

Modern Tier 2, 3 & 4 engines are using higher tolerance machined parts. These modern engines are susceptible to damage from contaminated oil.

The many transfer points of fuel oils between the refinery and final location can cause diesel fuel to become contaminated with water and particles. Even small quantities of water suspended in petroleum fuels can become hash abrasives under high pressure. This can result in costly damage to injectors and engine cylinders, as well as unplanned downtime that can take equipment offline for days or even weeks at a time.
