For micromaterial processing use the mulitpurpose tool, the ProtoLaser U:

Materials such as LTCC (Green-tape), ceramics, FR4, metal foils and protective films, or rigid-flex and flex materials can be processed in prototype production and in mini series with the LPKF ProtoLaser U.

With the use of the laser system separate PCBs can be precisely de-panelled from protective films; can cut LTCCs, pre-pregs; a large panel array (unassembled or assembled); structures TCO/ ITO and etching resists or open up solder resists without photomasks. Microvias or holes can be drilled with a minimum diameter of 50μm in HDI boards with the LPKF ProtoLaser U.

Precise and clean results are produced quickly with the regulated and focused UV laser beam. Operating using a non-contact process, tooling costs are no longer an issue when you use the ProtoLaser U. Its simplicity in operation and affordability makes the LPKF ProtoLaser U ideal for development and research needs.

All standard layout data formats such as DXF and Gerber files are quickly converted into production data with the LPKF CircuitCAM software. Process parameters also are preloaded for various applications, and with the administrator mode you can enjoy full control of all the system settings at your fingertips. With an automatic laser safety switch off when the machine hood is opened makes the ProtoLaser U extremely safe preventing any accidents that could occur. A laser safety rating of Class 1 during operation makes this machine extremely safe with the most highest rating possible .

PCBs are completed within minutes using the LPKF ProtoLaser S. Different layouts can be tested simply and efficiently with a layout area of 229x305x10 mm. Suitable for producing small production batches and prototypes on short notice. Easy operation and chemical free makes this system ideal.

More precise than its mechanical system counterparts, makes the ProtoLaser S ideal for digital and analog circuits as well as microwave and HF circuits. Precise geometries are produced on an extensive scope of substrates such as aluminium PET films, copper-clad FR4, Duroid, PTFE and ceramics. The fiducial camera has perfect recognition which makes this system ideal for the alignment of two-sided prototypes.
