The cell in the video on the left was first simulated for reachability and then later built as shown in the images below.
A cell can be designed to weld small components of only a few centimetres in size up to large units such as the truck bumpers being welded in this example.
A small cell might contain an Industrial Robot with a reach of 1m whereas a large cell could contain a robot with a 3.2m reach.
Activities that can be automated in the welding process include:
