Water level and weather monitoring

Pacific Data Systems has developed a system to monitor onsite weather conditions and water levels for dams, tanks and reservoirs.

Water evaporation can be costly for many industries and water level monitoring can be a time consuming process, particularly when water reserves are located away from operational centres.

Pacific Data Systems offers remote monitoring stations to allow customers to keep a close watch on their water resources online, from anywhere in the world, speeding up response times when action is needed.

The integrated system uses high accuracy sensors, suitable for research applications. A Vaisala WXT520 collects on-site weather data - (rainfall, temperature, barometric pressure and wind speed/ direction) and water level changes are monitored by Druck PTX 1830 Depth / Level sensors.

The sensors are connected to a dataTaker DT82EM data logger with internal 3G modem. In addition to recording all the data, the data logger allows University researchers to access the data remotely without needing to travel to the site to download the environmental data.

The water level and weather monitoring system can be tripod mounted and powered by a solar panel with battery backup to assist with easy on-site installation away from mains power.

Pacific Data Systems can customise the monitoring system to suit a variety of water monitoring applications.
