Planning for emergencies in facilities is part of an employer's responsibility to Occupational Health & Safety Legislation to provide a safe work place.
An emergency plan is required to document the emergency arrangements that include:
- Emergency roles
- Systems and arrangements
Those required to participate in the implementation and maintenance of the emergency plan are nominated as the facility's emergency planning committee.
Your Emergency Plan will consider the following:
- The size, complexity and features of the facility
- Security systems and arrangements
- The number and type of occupants and visitors
- The hours of occupancy
Fire Safe Services are able to coordinate the planning and execution of your evacuation exercises to evaluate the effectiveness of your emergency response program. This involves monitoring each evacuation exercise and observation of the efficiency of the ECO.
At the completion of the exercise a debrief session is conducted with the ECO to provide feedback and identify improvement actions, our consultant will then go and document his/her findings and provide a written report.
