To establish a fully automated system for data collection, firstly we need to move processes from manual to electronic data capture, and then design and implement a data storage and analysis capability. Our reporting application has been designed to be used on smart devices that will store data as it is input, then transfer it to the data storage system whenever a 3G or better signal is available. To capture the data, we can install wireless sensors to equipment, providing a stream of data directly to the application
Incoming data can be data mined to identify any issues or avenues for improvement, whether the application is being used for vessels, aircraft, land-based vehicles or various other applications. Alternatively, the data analysis can be sent to another place such as an office, or a Government official in the area nearby to instigate an inspection of the vehicle or vessel.
Users can each have their own login credentials and access to specified parts of the application depending on their level of access authorised. We can determine which software will provide the best solution for management of user accounts.
An example of one industry this reporting application is suitable for is the fishing industry. Fisheries can log their boat registration details, the details of the catches they have made along with the location of each boat. The individual fishers can take photographs of each catch through the application if necessary. These details can then be monitored by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) to ensure the commercial fisheries are staying within their fishing limits, allowing a sustainable fishing environment.
