The Q:Seal Flow Wrap system checks the seal integrity of food bags packed on a vertical flow wrap machine. It is a comprehensive quality control of food bags packed on a vertical flow wrap machine to prevent food spoilage and ensure clean seals.
The cause for seal detection is to prevent spoiled food due to food residue or greases and contamination in the seal, burned, folded or missing seals. It also ensures the aesthetics of the packaging as some customers will not accept the look of mashed product/food in the seal. For cooked in bag products it also affects how the seal operates when venting steam.
The system uses a Camsensor smart camera, with inbuilt image processing It is designed for harsh environments like food processing and the IP67 rating means it can even be hosed down.
The Camsensor captures images of the seal area as the product falls past after being released from the jaws. The camera is viewing the top and bottom seal and analyses the integrity.
An IP67 wash down rated backlight shows up contamination and food residue within the seal and folded seals as dark areas. Missing seals appear as an absence of seal and burnt seals appear darker than normal seals. The system provides an instantaneous reject signal for failed seals.
The Q:Seal Flow Wrap inspection system offers this complete quality control on a wide range of vertically flow wrapped packages. This is including pillow bags, gusseted bags, flat and tucked bottom bags, three and four side seal bags, saddle bags, quad seal bags and doy bags. The system inspects as well bag in bag packaging.
Specifications - Resolution: dependant on film width and contaminant opacity. Typically can detect down to 0.5 mm^2 contaminant. - Speed: 180 ppm (parts or bags per minute) can be inspected, it can even be higher at a reduced resolution. - The system also allows changes for different product types.
