BlueScope Steel, Port Kembla Administration

In this project by Advance SP for Bluescope, Bruce Alaimo and Pat Bromilow turned a fragmented, 19705 wood-panelled lobby into a spacious and colourful reception and display area.

The design incorporates the use of creative vinyl flooring in conjunction with the existing terrazzo floor and BlueScope's own products in joining the previous two sections into one large, inviting workspace. The result provides an excellent showcase for the versatility of Polyflor flooring products.

Jorgen Hansen of InterSpace Sydney collaborated with Advance SP on the fabrication of the floor-to-ceiling structures using Lysaght purlins and perforated metal sheet by Bluescope Steel.

The Black Treaclplate vinyl flooring is part of the Polyflor 'Expona art & design‘ collection, designed for commercial and retail interiors that require high-performance flooring products and innovative design patterns to complement their business and work environments.

While it may seem ironic that an authentic metal-looking vinyl flooring was chosen for a Bluescope project, the result is a uniquely designed environment that is quieter to walk on, warmer under foot. impact-resistant, as well as low-maintenance and easy to clean.

The Expona art & design flooring collection by Polyflor authentically reproduces 58 classically designed materials such as aged timber, stone, concrete, marble, slate, cobblestone — and yes, even metal — so realistically that the charm and subtle nuances will enhance the elegance of any contemporary interior.
