The enclosure is constructed from an anodised aluminium alloy extruded section which is internally grooved to allow printed circuit boards to fit easily without requiring holding screws or pegs. The aluminium section also provides heatsinking and RF shielding.
Black plastic moulded front and rear frames are then screwed to the ends of the section and panels are clipped to the frames. Screw brackets, which clip into holes on the side of the case, are used to hold the finished product in an aperture of a control panel.
Unique design of the front panel frame allows designers to fit large and complex printed front panels containing membrane switches and windows for LED or LCD displays often required for microprocessor based controllers.
Flexible manufacture enables non standard extrusion lengths and anodised colored aluminium sections for customised appearance. The CAMA product is ideal for applications where a high quality, professional looking enclosure is required for process control, instrumentation, scientific, medical, audio and/or communications products.
CAMA also manufacture some sizes in black PVC plastic. These cases are better suited to price sensitive instruments where large panel size is not required. The sizes are 48 x 96mm, 96 x 96mm and a new 48 x 144mm.
The plastic cases have lower rigidity and EMC shielding than the aluminium cases, but at a significantly lower price.
