The Best Western hotel chain dates back to 1957 when it was one of the first national standards bodies in the hospitality industry. Since then there have been many changes to it’s IT systems. By 2003, these cumulative changes led to a position of numerous different databases, various accounting modules and limited integration to the GL. A lack of business functionality in these systems led to incomplete business processes and staff storing their own copies of information.


Understanding they could no longer operate like this to effectively manage the business, it was decided that new ERP and CRM systems were required. The selection process involved a wide range of mid-tier packages – with Sage Accpac ERP and Sage CRM beating the competition to the finish line. CRM is the heart of the system, with a number of business specific software modules being built on top of the core CRM capabilities to manage Best Western Australia’s very specific requirements.
