Avweld have been coating wire return, breast, s-wrap, felt and size press rolls for over eight years. Typically rolls surfaces are covered with approximately 0.25mm thickness of chrome oxide and ground to profile as specified.
Advantages of using chrome oxide coated rolls include:
Extreme wear resistance
Excellent corrosion resistance
Greatly reduced maintenance shuts for change outs
Reduced wear on mating rolls doctor blades
Less paper breaks
Maximum efficiency/productivity from plant
Recent developments in thermal spray have been driving cost down while quality improvements such as super-alloy undercoating using HVOF and HVAF on corrosion prone applications have removed the risk of cover failure due to side corrosion
As all work is carried out in-house we have total control of quality and delivery to ensure satisfaction of your requirements
Typical life extension is by as much as 4-12 times
