Easier and quicker fitting to the hose without requiring binding equipment
Drastic reduction in the susceptibility of the hose coupling to get entangled
Better economy – direct cost savings
Time-saving in indoor fire-fighting
Reduction of materials damage
Certified to test pressure of 24 bar
A small ring, but big benefits to the user . . . easy to mount
There is no time to lose when combating fire . . .
The crucial factor in fire-fighting is the time, a fact that is readily confirmed by every fireman. The quicker the fire source is reached, the larger the effectiveness of fire-fighting. Also during retreat, time is a crucial factor. The weak link here has always been the hose in general and the hose coupling in particular. They become entangled with obstacles easily. Steps, ladders, mounds and corners, or even hose carrier baskets, are the potential obstacles. Entanglement leads to wastage of valuable time and engages the operating personnel and the hose crew.
Quicker and safer fire-fighting with iconos®.
The above-mentioned difficulties mostly become a thing of the past through the newly developed clamping slip ring, iconos®, because this accessory, which is both simple and ingenious, optimises the performance of the weak link in the hose, namely the hose coupling.
Thanks to its conical shape, iconos®greatly facilitates the laying and pulling of the hose, especially in staircases, around corners or through doors. the susceptibility of the hose to get entangled becomes significantly reduced. What is more, doors left ajar can be reopened by simply pulling the hose fitted withiconos®. As a result, there would be mostly no need for locking the doors in place, and the smoke leakage would be restricted to the hose width.
And there is more.iconos®avoids the problem of entanglement when removing the hose from hose carrier baskets and hose racks.
The comforting result: Substantial time-saving through an easy and trouble-free laying of the hose. This implies higher safety and more concentration on the essential aspects of indoor fire-fighting, namely rescuing lives and extinguishing fire.
The hose coupling fitted withiconos®slides over every obstacle without any difficulty.
No problem when doors slam shut: the hose can be easily pulled through
Ready for use in next to no time . . .
No need for expensive binding work with wire; easy positioning and clamping of the hose to the Storz stubs with an Allen key; viability to repairs from each end of the hose:iconos®can be mounted on the hose very quickly, even by personnel without special skills. This applies also to repairs in service. With iconos®, all hoses of design types 25mm, 38mm, 45mm, 52mm, 65mm and 100mm may be re-equipped without any problems with Storz stubs conforming to DIN.
Push the hose end on the Storz stub
The two halves of the clamping slip ring are pushed down until the stop below the clutching piece
The two halves of the clamping slip ring are fastened together tightly with two Allen screws (socket head screws)
The small economic wonder
iconos®has excellent service properties. Additionally and more importantly, it is extremely economical: there is no need for costly binding equipment, or for external services for making repairs on the hose and binding. The binding of the hose coupling is so simple that every fireman can do it himself without any difficulty. In addition, damage that would be typically caused by friction and pulling to the materials of the coupling is substantially reduced.
The implication is: the value oficonos®amortises just over a couple of repairs.
Patent Nr. DE 10102815 C 1
iconos®has been already tried out successfully under arduous service conditions by different professional fire services and greeted enthusiastically.
