Clean TeQ® BioFilter systems use specifically selected bacteria, immobilized on a filter media, to degrade odorous, toxic and VOC emissions.

BioFilters work by passing the waste air stream through organic filter media known as "BioFiltaire" with a "biofilm" containing bacteria that degrade the odour compounds. The "biofilm" is capable of degrading carbon, sulphur or nitrogen containing compounds, particularly to achieve high efficiency removal of low-level odorous pollutants.

Clean TeQ BioFilter systems can be used individually or in combination with other technologies to treat polluted airflows from 200 m3/h up to 100,000 m3/h and greater.

Design

Clean TeQ® BioFilter design is based on:

  • Practical Experience in similar applications
  • Use of the CleanBioTM proprietary modeling program to enable the effects of different odor types, peaks and mixtures to be understood
  • Media life

Other features include:

  • Closed housing to maintain moisture levels independent of external weather conditions
  • Automatic control of bed moisture through timers or moisture probes
  • Use of specialised IIBioFiltaireTM " media for high performance and long life
  • Use of Clean TeQ BioFilter Flooring system

System Types

Two types of BioFilter systems are available for pollutant treatment:

  • Bacterial (Odor/Toxic control)
  • Fungal (VOC control)

All Clean TeQ systems are designed using enclosed construction techniques to provide cost-effective and guaranteed treatment of pollutants.

Materials of construction are based on corrosion- resistant materials including FRP and corrosion- protected concrete.

BioFilter systems can also be supplied on design package/component supply basis (as above) if customer wishes to undertake construction components of project to reduce cost.
