Decontamination of protection equipment after use is vital
During the work, clothing and respirators may have been directly exposed to hazardous substances, and contaminants remain on the exterior. In effect, the removal, handling, and cleaning of soiled equipment can be as dangerous as the work itself. Effective decontamination procedures can become an even greater challenge in workplaces where respirators and other safety equipment are used in large numbers. Even a single mask can take a long time to clean.
Solo Rescue performs fast and efficient decontamination
Solo Rescue is a washing machine for protection equipment: it performs fast and efficient decontamination of large quantities of breathing apparatuses, respirators, helmets, gloves, boots and other personal protection equipment. The washer comprises an internal rotating basket where the equipment is subjected to effective cleaning from high-pressure nozzles.
The baskets come in various configurations for different safety gear. As one basket is cleaned and lifted out, another is loaded for immediate decontamination.
The Solo Rescue offers two wash cycles and works up to ten times faster than manual decontamination. Around twenty BA sets (masks and cylinders) can be cleaned in an hour. Boots, gloves and helmets take only two minutes in the washer.
