The installation of an ASF6 DXLK Australian Dust Control at a South Australian furniture company.
Meznar Furniture, in Gawler, South Australia, manufactures solid timber furniture, and is one of the few companies still manufacturing furniture in Australia.
Australian Dust Control was contracted to design, install and commission an entire dust extraction system for the company, utilising the latest state of the art European technology.
The ASF6 DXLK dust extraction system employed at the site features a completely modular design that allows additional modules to be added at a later date if required.
By incorporating a variable speed drive to automatically control suction levels and power consumption from the unit, Australian Dust Control has also designed a system that is environmentally friendly.
The variable speed drive automatically adjusts the speed of the extraction fan according to the machines in operation, meaning the fan operates at 80% capacity. This has led to a reduction in power bills for Meznar of around 50%.
The GROSS briquette press installed at the site is designed to be simple to use and compact, while requiring low maintenance.
The energy efficient design of these units can maintain a constant briquette size despite variations in the size of materials.
The briquette presses discharge waste by way of a rotary valve from the dust collector to the hopper of the unit and then compress the waste into briquettes at a ratio of six to one.
Briquettes are then discharged by a 90mm diameter transport pipe directly into a 3m³ skip bin with a liner. An auto bagging unit can also be installed where required.
In the case of solid timber, this waste can be sold and used for fuel.
This effectively reduces the volume of waste material generated, and in turn reduces associated waste disposal costs.
Australian Dust Control is the exclusive Australian agent for GROSS briquette presses and industrial shredders.
