A new standard input module with eight inputs is now available as an expansion to the base unit, complementing the existing standard output modules. The module enables PNOZmulti safety system to not only to monitor safety functions such as emergency stop or safety gates economically, but also standard control functions.
Linking safety and standard control technology, PNOZmulti safety system makes it especially easy to implement "enable mode", for example, which is a combination of conventional and safe control. In this case, the safe output is switched on and off conventionally via signals from the standard input as with a normal PLC.Additional relays are no longer required, reaping savings on hardware costs and simplifying the plant structure.
Enable mode can also be implemented when a standard fieldbus system is used to transfer the signals for the safe output. Fieldbus modules are available to connect the PNOZmulti safety system to a standard fieldbus. Diagnostic, status and controller information is transferred directly from the controller to the safety system, via the fieldbus, saving additional wiring costs.
As with all the safety functions, the standard functions are configured simply and quickly using the PC configuration tool, reducing wiring and hardware costs.
