AC current switch and transmitter sensors have been released by Bürkert Fluid Control Systems.
The loop powered AC Current Sensors are available in closed hole and split core configuration, with highly accurate 4 .. 20mA outputs that work effectively in conjunction with SCADA or DCS systems in analysis or preventative maintenance control loops.
All AC Current Sensors have screw terminal connections for mounting and work in a wide range of ambient temperatures -10 .. 80°C. Response times for all units is less than 300 milliseconds, making the units ideal for high confidence equipment protection and monitoring applications.
AC current transmitters A200 (19mm diameter closed hole) and SC200 (21mm2 split core) offer three jumper-selectable ranges covering the range 0 to 200 amps. These transmitters are frequently used in monitoring filling and pumping operations by measuring motor currents, for ensuring engine protection. The versatile units can monitor changing process variables such as level or viscosity to detect accurately out of limit conditions or end of process.
Also available is a lower cost switch option, the eLINE D100C, also with split core or closed hole versions. The D100C monitors currents to 150 Amps, with range adjustments by potentiometer. These ‘trip condition’ switches have a smart LED for visual status indication, with the LED indicator visually showing that the unit is off; that the process is within the acceptable range or that the sensor has tripped. Applications for the AC current switch include engine protection with single trip points; detecting broken belts and couplings and monitoring lighting signals with accuracy less than 1% of full scale.
Bürkert’s new eLINE range comprises a smart range of electronic devices that accessorise with Bürkert’s standard range of valves, instruments and controllers. In addition to AC current transducers and switches, eLINE includes displays, totalisers and signal converters.
