Global hydraulics and bolting leader Enerpac has signed a new distribution deal with the largest industrial equipment provider in Papua New Guinea, Bishops, to expand supply and support of Enerpac’s extensive range of tools and equipment.
The agreement – announced by Enerpac National Bolting Manager Pat Molloy – will have numerous benefits to existing and new users of Enerpac high-force (700-bar, 10,000psi) hydraulic equipment among Bishops' many customers involved in mining, petrochemicals, manufacturing, forestry, primary industry and Government agencies.
"A lot of mine sites and industry worksites in PNG already benefit extensively from the efficiency and reliability of our tools and this new agreement will mean that they and many others will have expanded access to our products and technical backing from a highly respected local supplier," said Molloy.
"This new partnership with Bishops means that Enerpac's comprehensive range of tools will be available in PNG, extending from our extensive range of high-strength non-impact professional bolting technologies, through to high-reliability, energy-saving pumps, cylinders and lifting cylinders.
"This landmark agreement means PNG and Solomon Island Customers will get the double benefit of access to one of the best ranges of hydraulic tools available globally, the Enerpac range, combined with the local expertise and backup of Bishops with seven industrial branches offering an inventory of more than 75 million kina worth of safety and industrial goods."
Papua New Guinea has large resource industries, including an extensive mining industry focusing predominantly on gold, silver, copper and nickel. Some of the largest mining, petroleum and industrial companies in Australasia operate there and are familiar with the benefits of Enerpac's tools.
Enerpac precision bolting tools include comprehensive families of hexagon and square drive all-steel hydraulic torque wrenches, custom-engineered torque wrench pumps, tensioners, nut splitters, flange spreaders and alignment tools constructed to complete the most difficult bolting jobs with the degree of safety and accuracy demanded in today's work environment.
Torque wrenches include the latest X-Editions of Enerpac's S square drive and W series low profile hexagon cassette series, which feature a stronger, more durable and safer connection between tool body and manifold, along with a dual plane swivel manifold that features interlocking arms to increase robustness and safety.
Both the new square and hexagonal drive X-Edition wrenches also feature tough upgraded handles featuring one-piece design with metal inlays for positive location, as well as an optional ergonomic straight handle design to ensure safety and avoid potential pinch point situations for operators.
"Enerpac's complete range of tools available through Bishops will be ideally complemented by Enerpac pumping and lifting technologies that have been extensively proven in some of the most difficult conditions in PNG over decades." says Molloy. "We have a complete range of advanced technology high reliability hydraulic pumps to complement the bolting tools, as well as one of the world's most comprehensive and advanced ranges of hydraulic cylinders and lifting devices," he said.
