EPOS P 24/5 is a freely programmable positioning controller with an integrated power stage for brushless and brush DC motors of up to 120 watts.
This makes it ideal for very dynamic and minute precision drives and controlling systems. Several drives can be networked and coordinated through a standardized CANopen interface, particularly other EPOS slave units.
Different operating modes can be pre-selected for controlling purposes (point-to-point, positioning controller with Feedforward, speed controller, torque control, Homing , electronic gearing, step/direction and position marker).
Sinusoidal commutation of current and space vector control (SVC) is used for brushless EC motors, not only improving motor efficiency, but also minimizing moment ripple and noise. Additional digital and analogue inputs help provide more control functionality directly at the application site.
The EPOS P is programmable by an extremely efficient software environment. Various program editors (ST, IL, FBD, LD, SFC) according to IEC 61131-3 are available.
The software helps manage application projects and set up complex programs with a wide range of decentralized controls. The development costs of drive systems are substantially reduced by complying with industry standards. The Motion Firmware Library was implemented according to the widely-used PLCopen motion control standard.
