The greasing of fan and blower bearings is often demanding due to relatively high bearing speed factors. Competant selection of grease is important and overlubrication can present problems.
For fin fan applications access for the purpose of manual lubrication can be difficult and will normally involve working at elevated levels. For fin fans which have remote grease lines installed it is very important that the lines are not excessively long or too small in diameter. More recent installations from some fin fan manufacturers are mindful of this fact with line lengths and diameters being chosen which are suitable for the installation of automatic, single-point lubricators.
