Multi-Fill Inc. of Utah USA, have recently supplied a Model MPFMP-060 semi-automatic volumetric depositor to Fresh Fodder in Orange, NSW, to increase the speed and efficiency of their salad production line.
Fresh Fodder, established by Max Schofield in 2008, is a producer of fresh handcrafted dips, sauces and salads with products stocked in over 600 delicatessens and supermarkets throughout Australia.
When hand-filling of Fresh Fodder's prepared salads struggled to keep pace with demand, the company realised it was time to look for an automated solution. Fresh Fodder chose the Multi-Fill MPFMP-060 semi automatic pocket filler as it can cater for a wide range of salad recipes, that traditional filling equipment cannot handle. Salads including penne pasta, couscous, chickpeas and vegetable blends, and with a quantity of dressing are now being deposited accurately into Fresh Fodder’s retail tubs as part of their gourmet convenience salads range.
Outputs of up to 60 cycles per minute (dependent on product mix) can be achieved, saving Fresh Fodder valuable filling time and therefore reducing labour costs. Product wastage and damage have been minimised and overall presentation of the product has been maintained. The Multi-Fill depositor is popular with food manufacturers for its mobility and ease of cleaning.
Max from Fresh Fodder said “Our experiences with HBM and Multi-Fill have been seamless and easy. They listened to our needs, found us a solution, and logistically organised our machine from inception through to commissioning. I would recommend their services to anyone looking to mechanise their operations.”
Multi-Fill’s range of semi-automatic and automatic depositors can be found on many well known international Ready Meals production lines. To date there are 26 Multi-Fill installations in Oceania alone. These depositors are suitable for filling a variety of containers including tubs, bowls, plates, trays, pouches and bags, and can handle a wide range of particulates, including cooked & IQF rice, cooked pasta, chopped fruit and vegetables, as well as diced and shredded meat.
Multi-Fill is represented in Oceania by HBM Packaging Technologies.
