From concept to completion: Coppabella Village, QLD

Supplier: Modular Wall Systems
01 August, 2014

Peabody Energy required a sound barrier around a mining village, in Coppabella QLD, as the miners' accommodation village was affected by the constant hum of passing coal trains from the adjacent railway tracks.

Modular Wall Systems reviewed the acoustic assessment and quickly concluded that a 3m high BarrierWall provided to be the most suitable acoustic solution for the site's requirements.

The sales and engineering team at Modular Wall Systems worked closely with Peabody Energy and as part of the preliminary phase presented a holistic proposal which included rendered 3D concept drawings, process flow diagrams, equipment selection and material layouts, structural certification and capital cost estimates.

Installation of the BarrierWall

A 290m long by 3m high BarrierWall was installed in just 10 days, with minimal site disruption while achieving a striking final noise attenuation result.

Utilising 3D digital modeling, we were able to effectively demonstrate and help the client visualise all aspects of the project and the look and feel of the noise barrier in immediate, easily understood images.
