A circuit no larger than a cent coin compensates the Pisello against fluctuations in operating temperature. The circuit’s EEPROM has stored values of ‘zero point’ and ‘amplification gain’ for each 1.5 °K wide part of the transmitter’s temperature range, previously determined by mathematical interpolation during the calibration process. During operation, the values corresponding to the operating temperature are switched-in. In this way, temperature fluctuations of up to 100 °K can be compensated for. The Pisello achieves a typical measurement accuracy of ±0.5% FS, including non-linearity and hysteresis, over the compensated temperature range.
The output signal from the miniature pressure transmitter (which reacts extremely quickly thanks to its signal bandwidth of 2 kHz) varies between 0.5 and 4.5V. The Pisello operates with voltage supplies from 8 to 28V, has a diameter of only 13 mm and a mass of 11 grams, making the Pisello ideal for mobile application use or use where space is limited.
The housing with its threaded pressure connection (M8, M6 or 10-32 UNF) is entirely welded and meets the requirements for protection class IP67.
