The Hanna Mig gas diffuser was developed by Richard Hanna to give extended length of gas cover to the weld zone. Richard Hanna observed that while the new generation low splatter mig power sources delivered far superior control of the weld pool, there still existed a substantial deficiency of the standard mig torch to deliver the length and span of gas cover required to produce x-ray quality welds, particularly where wind flows were present.
The primary motivation for the invention of the Hanna Mig Gas Lens Diffuser was protecting the weld zone from wind flows while operating in large workshops and on-site situations exposed to the elements.
This was because the standard mig torch fitted with a four or six hole diffuser gives a very limited length and span of gas cover.
Linked with the new generation low splatter power source, the Hanna Mig Gas Lens Diffuser enables the welding operator to increase productivity by up to 100% while maintaining the quality of the weld.
