How panels section off maintenance work in an industrial warehouse

Maintenance work is one of the most unavoidable but very important assignments in any industrial facility.

Neglecting it in the long run can seriously affect core business functions – from R&D and engineering to production and distribution. It can even put a toll on even the most mundane of administrative tasks in any office.

No matter how big or small the maintenance work is required – in machinery, facilities, or basic office equipment, companies, big or small, take this matter seriously because they know risks are involved and any delays can have a domino effect on all the business functions that, ultimately, should work together to meet the bottom line.

Alstom Australia is one of those companies that consider periodic maintenance work critical. Being a provider of power generation, electric grid, and rail transport infrastructure solutions Australia-wide, they understand that any maintenance work is important and needs to be attended to without delay.

Recently, they needed panels to section off a scheduled maintenance work in one of their 18 warehouses spread across the nation (and in New Zealand). And Portable Partitions was there to help.

The requirements were pretty obvious and straightforward – the setting was an industrial warehouse, therefore, panels had to be sturdy and high enough to hide away any serious maintenance work, easy to clean, easy to transport, reusable, portable.

The panels, when quickly laid out, also had to ensure a smooth flow of day-to-day operations and, essentially, create a conducive working environment for all workers despite the disturbance, away from any work hazards. In a nutshell, it has to be ‘Business as usual!’.

After looking at the many options that Portable Partitions had to offer, Alstom Australia got three (3) units of the Afford-A-Wall Folding Room Divider with Polycarbonate material. Not content with just that, they added three (3) more to cover a wider space.

Because the panels are made with polycarbonate material, they can be washed off easily with a wipe of a damp cloth, perfect for maintenance work where dust, spills, and other micro debris are always present.

The panels also come with wheels in case they needed to transport it to their other facilities for the same or different use.

Mike Peacock of Alstom Australia was very pleased with the product, ‘Yeah, very happy with the panels…set them up in the warehouse yesterday ready for maintenance works.’
