This valve is well suited to mining applications where the upstream pressure is constant due to the head of water in the supply column.

The Internal Ratio Valve reduces a high upstream pressure to a low downstream pressure. The ratio of the upstream pressure to the downstream pressure is fixed and is approximately constant at all flow rates up to the maximum of the valve.  
 
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
 
Pressure ratios from 1.5:1 up to 3:1 can be provided in the same valve bodies by changing only a small number of interchangeable parts.
 
The wear parts are the same as are used in the other HPE ranges of high pressure water control valves that proved superior durability.
The internal ratio valve operates on the principle of a high inlet pressure acting on a small area on the poppet producing a force that is balanced by an equal and opposite low downstream pressure acting on a large piston.
 
FEATURES
ØThe valves are very stable and do not hunt or surge.
ØThe main valve poppet and seat are of our proven labyrinth grooved type that has proven to be best in “wire drawing” erosion, cavitation and dirt resistance.
ØPressure ratios from 1.5:1 up to 3:1 can be provided in the same valve bodies by changing only a small number of interchangeable parts.
ØThe wear parts are the same as are used in the other HPE ranges of high pressure water control valves that proved superior durability.
ØThe ratio will remain within ± 0,3 at all flows. At very low flow it will tend to increase to assist in shut-off. Closer ratios can be provided by our other control systems.
ØThe valves work well at differential pressures of up to 15MPa but increasing pressure decreases life.
ØThe internal parts are all of corrosion resistant materials.
ØThe seals are proven to the best design that stands up to dynamic water cylinder sealing.
ØMaintenance can be done in line requiring access from one side only.
