Switch protectors are available in 8, 16 or 24 port configuration. Protection is available for both single terminals as well as switches. The single cable protector is shown above.
The protector simply replaces the existing patch cord that is then connected to the device it is protecting. The unit is supplied with a flying earth lead so that the protector can be connected to the frame of the equipment to prevent potentially damaging overvoltages from occurring between the network lines and the power lines.
Novaris switch protectors provide protection for either 8, 16 or 24 ports. The units have two rows of RJ45 connectors (one for inputs, the other for outputs) on a standard 2HU 19" rack mount panel. The unit has a link that allows it to be referenced to earth.
All Mode Protection
Transients appearing between a signal pair and its earth (common mode) as well as between two or more signal lines (transverse mode) are equally as damaging to connected equipment. The Novaris range of LAN surge protectors provide high quality protection for both of these potentially damaging transients.
Safe Metal Enclosure
Novaris surge protection products are housed in safe, all metal enclosures. In the event of a prolonged overvoltage they will not catch fire or explode.
