The laser-sintering system EOSINT P S85 produces three-dimensional plastic models and parts up to a part size of S40 mm x S40 mm x 600 mm directly from CAD data without the necessity of having to use additional tools. This makes the machine ideal for producing master patterns and working prototypes for design studies and functional tests.

The process begins by supplying solid CAD data to the control in STL file format.The build tank of the machine is filled with Polyamide, powdered plastic material, available in a variety of properties depending on the application. The machines software then automatically positions the part(s) within the build envelope minimizing the necessary build height, thus cycle time.

The laser sintering process then begins, effectively building the part from the bottom up, layer by layer, with a layer thickness ranging from 0.02 - 0.20mm depending on material and application.Average build time for a layer thickness of 0.1 mm is 1 hour per 20mm of height within the entire envelope.
