This work is mainly performed using ladders, which can be dangerous. Occasionally a one person lifter or a scissor lift is hired, but now there is an alternative. 

 

The LEV8-46 is a single person lifter - with a twist. Instead of climbing into the cage, then raising yourself up using electrics or hydraulics, all you need to do is to wind the carriage up to the desired height - to a maximum of 4.6 Mtr (max working height of 6.1 Mtrs), then walk up the telescoping ladder into the carriage.

 

Lift and lower is by hand 'brake' winch, which is only raising the carriage. When at the desired height, a safety pin prevents the cage from moving down. Raise slightly, pull the pin, then wind the cage down after you have finished your work.

 

Features:

• Flip up edge boards on the carriage floor, prevent any tools from falling out. 
• The two front outriggers can be set in a rectangular or splayed pattern. They pivot and lock in the UP position when not in use, and pin down when required, with each having it's own winding handle.. You can be safe in the knowledge that the outriggers footprint is larger than the carriage footprint. 
• The rectangular base frame has 250mm diameter castors with brakes on the two swivels.
• The operator carriage is hinged, which brings the overall height down to 2070 when fully down. 
• The footprint of 1300mm x 800mm can fit through standard doorways. 
• Unit weight is 190 Kgs. 
• Safety: A spring loaded pin is actuated if the cable goes slack. So along with the under mast pin, this is the second fail safe device fitted. 
• The LEV8-46 is wind rated to Level 4 (up to 7.9 Mtrs/sec) for outside use - unlike some single person lifters that have no wind rating.
