DUMP HOPPER DUST CONTROL Material discharged from a flat bed truck or rail car into a deep receiving hopper is dropped from a height of between 1 and 4 meters. The dust particles in the stream of free falling material disperse as they accelerate and inspirate a downward moving column of air.
When the mass hits the hopper bottom, the energy expended causes extreme turbulence, abrasion and de agglomeration of the particles causing a violent generation of dust in an ascending column, which if allowed to escape could totally engulf the truck / rail car.
LUEHR LOUVRES To overcome the problem we have available a design of louvres which can be positioned directly below the hopper grating. These substantially reduce the amount of dust escaping. ( up to 75% ) without the need for additional dust extraction.
No Power Requirements.
Reduction in Dust Extraction Requirements. Since the louvres substantially enclose the hopper opening then the dust extraction exhaust rates can be significantly reduced. Using LUHR LOUVRES an exhaust rate of between 75 and 230 l/sec/m2 of the total grate area is used. The lower figure used only on very low dust loads.
Trouble Free Operation. The units are virtually maintenance free and can be supplied in a variety of sizes dependant on the bulk material handled.
