Standard screw jacks have been an important component of converting a rotary movement into a linear one utilising a worm gear and threaded spindle whilst being space efficient and is just as relevant today as it ever was.
Screw jack technology comes into play, where loads need to be controlled and positioned precisely high dependability, and low maintenance all make worm gear screw jacks ideal for a wide variety of uses. From a few kilograms to 100 tonnes Unimec screw jacks can do the job.
Their high reliability, practically, maintenance free designs and simplicity of use render mechanical worm gear screw jacks ideal for the most demanding and variable working conditions.
Unimec Screw jacks can be used for hoisting, pulling, lining up or moving within all possible applications. As well as being used individually, the can be mounted in groups to favour a perfect synchronism even under unbalanced loads. Their particular construction makes them absolutely non-back-driving and therefore once the input shaft is stopped they remain in position without the help of brakes etc. even when the load is applied to the spindle.
Having a completely machined body makes all sorts of mountings possible. Applications with electric, pneumatic and hydraulic drive motors are within our range thanks to the availability of hollow shafts and flanges as well as solid inputs.
The X Series Stainless Steel Screw Jack is ideal for applications where a permanent resistance to oxidising is necessary, it is possible to supply the components in stainless steel.
Sizes 204, 306, and 407 foresee a model in AISI 316, as a standard production, for all components;
Threaded Spindles, covers, bushings, casings, end fittings and motor flanges; the only exception is the worm screw which undergoes a Niploy treatment in case of protrusions.
The X Series can be applied in the sea environment with any oxidizing problems. It is possible to supply all the remaining sizes in AISI 304 or 316 Stainless Steel as a special order.
Ease of use, high dependability, and low maintenance all make worm gear screw jacks ideal for a wide variety of uses. They can be used to lift, pull, move, or align any load, even if highly unbalanced, with perfect synchronisation offered by no other movement method.
