The miC reader works via the insertion of a miPASS card or the combination of a card and PIN. Authentication is performed locally within the miC reader and does not require reference to a centralised database, thus eliminating privacy and security concerns from storage of personal information in a computer, network or server. Combined with the adaptability of Mifare® technology, the read & write functionality of the miC reader facilitates the future proofing of your investment in secure access control.
The memory of the miPASS card allows for multiple applications to be added, such as the integration of BQT Access Control Solutions for secure physical access requirements. The featured logon application for computer authentication continually polls the miC reader to detect the presence of the inserted miPASS card for an approved user. When the card is removed, the user's access rights are invalidated and the system can then be configured to lock the station to a secure state, log off the current user, or shut down the PC or workstation.
Third party software applications can be integrated with the miC reader for additional access control features, network/server security, and remote network logon.
