Being mechanically driven it is more fuel efficient than a hydrostatic machine and can sustain high road mileage. The ergonomic cab and controls together with an automatic transmission make it easy to drive and comfortable for the operator.
The vehicle is powered by a 200Hp John Deere 6068 engine connected to a remote mounted ZF 6WG160 automatic transmission with torque converter and manual override. Dana heavy duty drive and steer axles with hub final reduction and inboard wet disc brakes are fitted with full trailing arm suspension. The rear suspension incorporates self leveling air bags, these are particularly beneficial when using the vehicle in conjunction with a spinner spreader. The suspension maintains the height of the spinners from ground level irrespective to vehicle load. The above components are built onto a conventional bolted ladder type chassis making it adaptable and simple to maintain.
The vehicle is agile and highly maneuverable having a five-mode 'Pentronic' 4-Wheel steering system. A wide choice of tyre equipment is available, both floatation and rowcrop to minimise ground compaction and crop impact.
The World Series safety cab has been specifically developed for the machine and includes tinted glazing, providing excellent protection and panoramic vision. It is equipped with an efficient climate control system. Controls for the machine are conveniently located on the right hand console, which includes a multifunction AMC (advanced machine control). The AMC panel is the central information system for the machine. It enables the operator to view all the key functions and to programme various settings, including cruise control and PTO speed. It also incorporated an area / speed meter.
To suit the multiplisity of ancilliary equipment, sprayer, spreaders, tankers etc, that can be fitted to the Multidrive a seperate hydraulic PTO system is provided with choise of POWERSAVER load sensing pumps and control systems.
The Multidrive is available in three wheelbase configurations 3.5, 3.8 and 4.2 metre. A number of optional extras and specifacations are available including a galvanised chassis and stainless steel fuel and hydraulic tanks.
The Multidrive has been designed primarily as a load carrier and is a highly versatile machine. It can be equipped with a range of demountable and interchangeable equipment, including lime and fertilizer spreaders and Crop sprayers and can be used for light cultivation and hauling.
