Advantech's Industrial Automation Group has released the EKI-2701PSI, an Industrial Ethernet PoE (Power-over-Ethernet) Splitter. The EKI-2701PSI features 1 x PoE input port, which can split a PoE input signal into a 24VDC power output and 1 x RJ45 Ethernet port for data output. This is convenient for locations with no power outlets, as users would only need an Ethernet cable running a PoE signal and the EKI-2701PSI, which can spilt this signal and power any device nearby. EKI-2701PSI operates well with any other PoE device, such as Advantech's own EKI-2525P. Designed with a compact metal case and a rugged operating temperature of -40 ~ 75° C, the EKI-2701PSI is another in the line of Advantech's rugged and verstile EKI family.
As technology evolves, PoE (Power over Ethernet) products are becoming much more viable, especially in outdoor and power-access limited applications, providing users freedom from installing near outlets or wiring for power. This is especially true for Environment, Facility and Transportation systems.
EKI-2701PSI supports 10/100/1000T for its PoE port, which means is it not only a splitter to divide power from a PoE source to an Ethernet device, but can also be a remote source of power itself, with output to 12.95W at 24VDC. The power and data can be transmitted up to 328 feet or 100m from the power source, and the EKI-2701PSI can be used to power IEEE802.3af compliant devices (PD) via PoE communication device and split power/data from PoE equipment.
EKI-2701PSI comes equipped with all the standard features of the EKI family, such as IP30 metal housing and 3000 VDC surge protection for the power line, plus 4000 VDC ESD protection on the Ethernet ports and supports operation temperatures between -40~75° C. EKI-2701PSI provides current overload protection with a reset-able fuse to ensure that the device component won't be damaged through overload. The EKI-2701PSI assures high reliability and stability in harsh industrial environments.
